"Business in Control, how do we connect all stakeholders?"

Thursday, October 17, 2019

8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Charles V, Utrecht

We would like to invite you to the CERRIX Event on Thursday, October 17, 2019 Hotel Restaurant Karel V in Utrecht.

The theme is:

"Business in Control, how do we connect all stakeholders?"

Risk management is no longer a specialized domain of risk managers, compliance officers and auditors. At some point everyone in the organization will be confronted with it. Management and management in making risk assessments in the process of (strategic) decision-making, managers in designing and optimizing processes and employees in carrying out daily activities. Moreover, the increasing environmental dynamics requires that more attention be given to risk management with related organizations. Resilience, awareness and a properly and efficiently functioning risk management process are therefore more than desirable. And that is no longer possible with spreadsheets ...

At this event a number of speakers will share their own practical experiences.

AGENDA

8 a.m. - 9 a.m. Walk-in, reception, networking and breakfast in the room

09:00 o'clock - 09.15 am Opening and welcome speech

Bakir Lashkari, Senior Executive Sales CERRIX

9:15 am - 09.45 o'clock  Everyone is a risk manager ..

Everybody is risicomanager by professor dr. Leen Paape RA RO CIA (Nyenrode University)

In fact, everyone in the organization should be working on risk management, says Prof. dr. Dr. Leen Paape. "When I ask managers, they indicate:" Of course I am doing risk assessment, I am looking for opportunities and possibilities. That is of course true, but when I ask them a few questions to see if they actually do it, it appears that they often do it implicitly, but not explicitly. That is why things often go wrong. We thought we knew and we could do it, but the practice turned out to be very different. "

9.45 am - 10.15 am Risk management in practice

John de Waal, VP Finance & Risk, Ahold Delhaize Pension

Ahold Delhaize Pensioen manages the pension administration. During the past years, the fund has structured and expanded risk management and has also assigned more responsibilities to the 1eline. What are the experiences so far and what have been the benefits of GRC technology with this risk management structure? This also addresses the impact of IORP II.

10.15 am - 10.45 am Implementation of GRCtooling at asr

Linda van der Spek, Head of ERM, Group Risk Management asr

The asr insurer has an end 2016 decided to further professionalize the risk management processes for non-financial risks with the implementation of GRC tooling. Not an easy task because the many decentralized business units also have their own specific needs and reporting obligations to third parties. How did this process go, what are the pitfalls and the lessons learned?

10.45 am - 11 am Coffee break

11.00 am - 11.30 am Panel discussion: Keep control over connected business activities
  • Everybody is risicomanager by professor dr. Leen Paape RA RO CIA (Nyenrode University)
  • Frank Lurling, Managing Director Compliance & Non Financial Risk Management
  • Joop Rabou, ING Risk Officer
  • Gerard Frankema, Director of the Administrative Office Step

Organizations are increasingly intertwined with suppliers and customers. It becomes important for customers to keep control over the third parties that are part of the chain. How do you keep a watchful eye on outsourcing without having to fill in the management yourself?

During the panel discussion there are examples of interconnection between banks with Fintechs, implementing organizations with customers. This is exacerbated by the pressure from regulators (provides supervision of risk management outsourced activities, but also market liberalization initiatives such as PSD2) and increased risks (cyber risks).

11.30 am - 12.00 pm Business in Control - Connecting disciplines with further digitization -

Paul Bruggeman, Managing Director CERRIX

If we find that actually everyone in the organization will somehow be confronted with risk management, then it is important to achieve this in a consistent and efficient manner. This vision is therefore the starting point for the further development of our solutions. In this session some examples of new possibilities with the CERRIX solutions are given.

The CERRIX Event 2019 has a versatile program and is fully supervised by Professor Leen Paape (Nyenrode University).
